I didn’t grow up wanting to start a recipe blog — I grew up in a kitchen that was always a little too small for how many people were in it. Sunday dinners in Nashville meant someone was always stirring something while three other conversations happened around them. That’s the energy I’m going for here: food that’s good enough to gather around, simple enough that you’re not stuck in the kitchen while everyone else has fun.
I spend a lot of time noticing what’s blowing up online — the recipes everyone’s suddenly making. But here’s the thing: a video that looks easy isn’t always easy once you’re standing at your own stove with your own pan that heats unevenly. So before I post anything, I make it myself, usually more than once, and I write down the part that actually trips people up — because there’s always one.
What you’ll find here are weeknight-friendly recipes that don’t taste like weeknight food. Nothing that requires a special trip to a specialty store. Nothing that takes all afternoon unless I tell you up front that it’s a weekend project.
Pull up a chair. Let’s figure out what’s for dinner.
